NOTD: Gold Glitter + Nude Reverse French Tip

Today's manicure is festive, but great all year round. Combining gold glitter and a pink-y nude color gives the most flattering and girly effect on any skin color!

I used hole punch protectors to create this reverse french manicure.

Mo-Mo decided to photobomb a little bit :P

This manicure could easily be made more festive by switching out the nude color for any type of red {especially deeper one's with a shimmer finish} or an emerald green!

Essie- Topless and Barefoot | Julep- Sienna | China Glaze- Blonde Bombshell | Avon- Sparkling Gold.

NOTD: Chanel Malice

Here is another Vampy nail polish- Chanel's Malice  has a deep shimmery complexion with a red base. It's fully opaque in 2 coats.

This sparkle it gives reminds me of ruby red slipper!

This nail polish gets me in the holiday mood!!!

Lush Review: Sunny Side + Golden Wonder

Over the weekend I used some lush bath products and was beyond amazed by the way my bath turned out!

Golden Wonder (bath bomb) LE- This present has a light orange scent that's fresh and clean. It is yellow with gold luster on the outside, and turquoise with a surprise on the inside!
Sunny Side (bubble bar)- This one also has a clean citrus smell that isn't too overpowering. It is a dark yellow, luster-filled bar rolled in tons of gold glitter.

Together this combination gives a pleasant light citrus scent that is packed with gold shimmer. For an added layer of citrus smell I used this Peeled Navel Orange candle from anthropologie.
 I was in citrus heaven!

then released a deep turquoise color and
lots of sequins!
 Golden wonder started out yellow...

After I added sunny side, this is what happened to my water. It looked amazing! I would recommend not creating too many bubbles just so you can admire the shimmering water!

DO NOT WORRY: The sequins dissolve into your bath rapidly. All the glitter did leave a residue in the tub, but it was a super easy clean-up (literally on rinse glitter gone) with no color stains at all!

All-in-all this was such a cute glittery bath that I will undeniably recreate again and again!

Products Mentioned:
Lush- Golden Wonder bath bomb (limited edition xmas item), Sunny Side bubble bar | Anthropologie- Peeled Navel Orange candle (I looove all 3 scents, especially the volcano one!)

NOTD: Christmas Tree!

Sometimes a girl needs a little glitter in her life!

Today's mani is inspired by all of those adorable christmas tree tutorials floating around on pinterest!

for my accent nail i used scotch tape to create the triangle and then free-handed some white lines and added rhinestones as ornaments!

I know I've been lagging on posts for a while now since school has completely taken over my life! But it is almost winter break, which means plenty of time for holiday nail art!

NOTD: YSL Bleu Majorelle

I recently bought this nail polish on yslbeauty.com during a 20% off sale, luck for you... this YSL PROMO is still on & on top of the 20% you get to choose 6 samples for free!

Bleu Majorelle is an amazing bright blue polish that is opaque in 2 coats. The finish is extremely glossy and smooth! It may be the most impressive formula ever, and the brush is not far behind!

This color is great because you can wear it year-round,
and that is exactly what I plan to do! :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

NOTD: Reverse French Tip

This color combo screams Holidays to me :)
The red is Avon and the dark gray is China Glaze Stone Cold from the hunger games collection.

CG Stone Cold is a micro-shimmer dark grey polish that dries matte and really only needs one careful coat to be opaque and smooth. I definitely love this polish with a top coat better since the shimmer is much  more visible and festive this way :)

After painting a coat of Stone Cold I took some hole reinforcement stickers and placed about 1/3 of it on the bottom half of my nail then painted 2 coats of red on the top part of the nail. I carefully peeled the sticker off while the polish was still tacky and added 2 coats of clear top coat.

I cannot believe that Thanksgiving is this week! that means excess food and excess sales {although I don't think i'll be joining in the deal hunts this year}!!! :D

Avon: Real Red | China Glaze- Stone Cold.

NOTD: Poppies

Can I just say that I looove Little Nails blog?! Today I decided to re-create THIS recent nail art post of hers because it just looked so darn cute!

My nail art is defintely not as good as hers, but poppies are my favorite flower! :)

Thanks Little Nails for your awesome nail art inspirations!

NOTD: Butter London Knackered {Revisited}

So, I wasn't at all happy with knackered on its own and decided that I needed to revisit it.

What a great idea it is to layer it over different colors, especially greens, purples, and blues!

Knackered over Essie Stylenomics.
It turned the base color almost black {it's actually a dark green} and gave it an amazing 'starry sky' effect!

NOTD: Fishtail Chevron Mani

I finally had some time on my hands to do some nail art and after seeing Chalkboard Nails do this Fishtail Mani, I needed on my own nails asap!

I opted for using just 2 colors instead of having an ombré effect like hers. I used a dark steel grey glitter that has a matte finish sans topcoat instead of black.
  {don't mind my stained nails}

 Happy Thursday :)

NOTD: Jack-O-Lanterns + Pet Costumes!!!

I love carved pumpkins! And I also love constumes... pet costumes in particular!
Scroll down to see pictures of my cats hating life and me for making them dress up!
LOL

This is Gilda, she hates me.
Ok she doesn't hate me, but she sure wasn't loving being an adorable bumble-cat! Haha.

Pepper wasn't having it either. Her evil stare says it all, but she just looks so darn cute!

I swear it's like cats know how ridiculous they look and loath you for it. They give you death stares that make you feel sooo bad that you just have to go out and buy them toys...
lots and lots of toys to make up for it!

Happy Halloween!

NOTD: Essie- Topless & Barefoot

I bought this polish thinking it would be the perfect opaque nude color, and it is except for the application... not the easier polish to apply.

Topless & Barfoot is a pinkish bone color that needs at least 3 careful coats to be somewhat even. It is fully opaque after 2 but looks lumpy :(

Overall, I do like the color, but the application isn't great.

NOTD: Essie- Bahama Mama

Bahama Mama is extremely similar to Chanel's Provocation {the FNO limited edition polish}. I will have to do a post comparing the two.

Bahama Mama is supposed to be a deep purple color, but it's more of a dark redish-purple. It's one of those must have shades for Fall and Winter. I used 2 coats and it was perfect, 3 coats will make it an even darker richer color.

With no sunlight and flash Bahama Mama looks almost identical to Chanel's Provocation

NOTD: Essie- Bobbing for Baubles

Clean non-artsy manicures have been my go-to things recently. I am desperately waiting for cooler weather to kick-in here in Socal so I can properly begin to feel out the holiday season in manicure form- hot weather is just not cutting it enough to adorn my nails with leaves, snowflakes, and christmas trees :(

Bobbing for Baubles is an amazing dark navy color that is opaque and streak-free in just 2 coats. It is extremely glossy without a top coat. All I can say is, I love it!

My adorable polka dot and sequin sweaters are in desperate need of tender loving wear! Someone tell the weather to tune it down about 20˚... please!
