NOTD: Butter London- Knackered

This polish is really weird, both in color and in application. It reminds me of the deep sea water and mermaids.

Knackered is a purplish-grey color with a green sheen to it depending on how you look at it: It can look like a muddy silver color, or purple-silver, or purple-green. It has a blue undertone and chunky silver glitter.
{as you can tell, I wasn't able to capture all the colors in pictures}

I needed at least 4 coats for opacity. Upon further inspection I was able to see my nail line as well as unevenness from it's poor application and consistency. It tends to get gooey.

This picture shows the range of colors the best- purple at the bottom and green towards the top.

I really thought this color was going to be amazing, but it turned out weird and lacking, definitely not worth $12.

NOTD: Butter London Dodgy Barnett

On monday I tweeted {roxypie89} about Utla's buy 1get 1 free on Butter London Polishes... I managed to pick up some of my most wanted!!

Let's Start with Dodgy Barnett: {from the Fall/Winter 2012 collection} it's a light silver holographic nail polish that takes 2 coats to be fully opaque. It dries glossy and even so a top coat is not necessary {but I used Seche Vite}. It's remarkably easy to remove, one swipe with nail polish remover is all it took!

 This polish shows off its best rainbow effect under direct light.

This is what it looks like in the shade or with poor lighting- a light silver grainy polish.

I will post more Butter London swatches in the next few days :)
Are you taking advantage of Ulta's 21 days of Beauty sales???

NOTD: Inverted French Tip

I love this color combination, but I must admit- this manicure turned out kind of weird lol...

I love this pastel pink color, it is opaque after 2 coats, and the silver only takes one!

In other random news... I tweeted {follow me @roxypie89} about this amazing 50% off clearance sale that Ann Taylor had and I can't wait to share all the goodies I ordered with you guys!

NOTD: Cupcakes

After seeing so many cupcake manicures on Pinterest, I made my attempt... They're too adorable to resist!

  •  after painting every other nail pink, I painted the bottom 1/3 of the other nails the same color.
  • I then added vertical light pink stripes to the 1/3 portion.
  • With white polish I painted 3 scallops using the nail polish brush.
  • Then, I carefully rounded out the top using the same nail polish brush making sure not to go all the way to the cuticle.
  • I added small sprinkles with my finest dotting tool. {a pin will work, but be careful}
  • Finally I topped of the cupcake with a sparkly top coat and a pink rhinestone.
  • For the other nails I free-handed silver hearts {added dots} and stripes.

My first cupcake didn't come out very round!

Sparkly cupcakes, yum!
I have to mention that my nails gave me a huge craving for cupcakes which, I am proud to say I satisfied! lol

Do you want cupcakes now??? :)
