NOTD: Butter London Dodgy Barnett

On monday I tweeted {roxypie89} about Utla's buy 1get 1 free on Butter London Polishes... I managed to pick up some of my most wanted!!

Let's Start with Dodgy Barnett: {from the Fall/Winter 2012 collection} it's a light silver holographic nail polish that takes 2 coats to be fully opaque. It dries glossy and even so a top coat is not necessary {but I used Seche Vite}. It's remarkably easy to remove, one swipe with nail polish remover is all it took!

This polish shows off its best rainbow effect under direct light.

This is what it looks like in the shade or with poor lighting- a light silver grainy polish.

I will post more Butter London swatches in the next few days :)
Are you taking advantage of Ulta's 21 days of Beauty sales???

NOTD: 4th of July!

It is July, and I jumped on the bandwagon and gave myself a 4th of July mani! It was fun creating different designs on each nail especially the star, which proved to be quite easy with my CM nail art polish.

After each nail had 2 coats of color, I used glitter for the middle finger, a dotting tool to create the dots, and the CM nail art to freehand the lines and the star.

  •  I made the star by using this method, then filling it in:

  • The Red is one of the best formulas I've tried, glossy and very opaque even after one coat.
  • The White is also one of the best I've tried, not thick at all, and after 2 coats it is mostly even and streak-free. {Good job Avon!}
  •  The Blue is actually a shimmer polish, but the finish is nice and even, not thick at all.

The holographic glitter has various sized silver particles. So pretty!!

Products mentioned:

L to R: Seche Vite Top Coat, OPI Ridge Filler, CM Nail Art White, Avon: French Tip White, Illusion, China Glaze Techno, Avon: Splendid Blue, Real Red. Dotting tools via blueskynailssupply.

Have a happy and safe 4th of July!!!

NOTD + NAIL POLISH RACK!

I am so excited! I have been on the hunt for a nail polish rack for a while now, but online prices are pretty steep (~$75). So I did some research and found this place called Skylark Nail and Beauty Supply and made it my mission to go check out their goods. I ended up buying one for $23.00 flat! So exciting! It holds about 80 polishes and hangs nicely on my wall!

I also picked up a two new China Glaze polishes for $2.50 each plus a much needed bottle of my favorite top coat Seche Vite for $4.00!!! I definitely recommend visiting Skylark if you are in the area they have everything necessary for manicures!

Here is a picture of the nail polish rack and a quick mani I did with both my new polishes (not my best job, but wanted to share anyway)... the pictures do not do the glitter justice!

I think I need more polishes!
