NOTD: Julep Janel

This polish is definitely not as great as the Ally, But it's still pretty. Janel is a frosty raspberry color and looks best in direct light. This one also takes only 2 coats for full opacity, the formula is pretty thick here too.

Natural light.

NOTD: Julep Ally

I'm not gonna lie, I totally forgot to skip this month's box and was about to cancel the whole subscription... But then I saw Ally and was amazed!

It's the most gorgeous pearlescent cobalt blue color (I think I like it more than YSL Bleu Majorelle!) It needs only 2 coats for full opacity. The formula is on the thicker side, but drying time is normal.

I'm totally in love with this color! It's the perfect blue!

NOTD: Zoya PixieDust Nyx

This is the other Pixie Dust that I got! It's so lovely!!!

Direct sunlight, no top coat.

The only issue is that it takes at least 4 coats to be fully opaque with no bald spots so, I used a blue base color first and then layered this on top. I still ended up using 3 coats to make sure I had no bald spots, but I'm sure letting each coat completely dry will decrease the number of coats.

Shade, no top coat.

Direct sunlight, no top coat.

Then I added seche vite and made it even more amazing!

Direct sunlight with top coat.

I should mention that taking this polish off is pretty easy compared to other glitter polishes. The glitter is so finely milled, it comes off just like normal polish :) (I use pure acetone though)

NOTD: Flower Power?

I'm feeling some 60's vibe coming from this mani!
Thanks to one nail to rule them all for this awesome nail inspiration!

The play on contrast in this manicure is perfect!

Look at that cut on my thumb! It hurt for like 2 days :(

So, I'm on spring break now! The night after my last final I slept for a whole 13 hours straight! Talk about sleep deprivation, I don't think I had slept more than 9 hours all of last weekend combined!

And now, I have plenty of time to sleep in and do my nails :)

NOTD: Zoya PixieDust Dahlia

I coveted this collection for about a week before I could wait no longer! I ended up buying 2 colors :) It also, took me 3 Ulta's to find one that had the PixieDust Collection in stock!!!

Dahlia is a dark grayish-black with silver diamond dust like shimmer {does that even make sense?!}. It is supposed to be worn without a top coat to show it's pixie dust appearance. The texture feels like fine sandpaper and the look reminds me of those druzy quartz stones.
Something like this:

The application was fairly easy, 2 coats is enough for opacity. The formula dries very quickly and I had no problems with smudging it or denting after waiting about 5 minutes for it to dry.

I almost forgot! My spring break begins on Wednesday and I am so excited to sleep all day!!!

NOTD: Deborah Lippmann Shape of my Heart

I finally added a DL polish to my collection... and it's not a glitter!

Shape of my Heart is a sheer pink with hints of lavender that needs at least 3 coats for semi-opacity. I used 4 coats here with no drying problems  at all (I added my trusty seche vite though).

I bought this polish from hsn.com and used the code: 1NEW15 for 15% off my order. Shipping is free, so my total was $15.53. DL polishes range from $16-19 at Nordstrom and elsewhere.

OOTD: Instagram Recap

The days are definitely getting warmer here in SoCal... hopefully it doesn't get too hot, too soon!!!

| Sweater- J. Crew | Dress- H&M | Boots- LifeStride | Necklace- eBay | Bracelets- Kate Spade |

| Jacket- J. Crew | Necklace- eBay |
Funny story about this jacket, it was too big :'( I took a chance with washing and drying it to see if it would shrink after clearly reading "Dry Clean Only" and Voila!!! Perfect fit! I was pretty nervous since the fabric is a stretchy tweed type material that looks like it can snag easily, luckily nothing happened!

Super casual Saturday: | Tee- Ann Taylor | Pants- J Brand | Shoes- Target Oxfords | Scarf- J. Crew |

 | Top, Shoes- J. Crew | Shorts- Hudson Jeans | Bag- Michael Kors | Necklace- Forever 21 |

I'm on my last week of this quarter, finals are next week! {freaking out a little bit!}

BOTD: J.Crew Jeweled Sweatshirt Vs F21 Rhinestone Pullover

{Bargain of the Day} I went to forever 21 thinking all I needed was basic camis... but then this sweater jumped at me screaming "J.CREW, J.CREW, J.CREW!!!" Woah, F21 must have their eyes glued to J. Crew clothes! This is so similar to last season's sweater {and this seasons' in 2 new colors}!!!

J. Crew Jeweled Sweatshirt $118

F21- Rhinestone French Terry Pullover $22.80

I bought it! Here is an IRL picture:

The difference is that the color of the F21 sweater is lighter and the jewel clusters are only on the front body part. But in terms of material, it feels pretty sturdy. The clusters are also sewn in rather well and don't seem like they'll be going anywhere anytime soon. :)

Would you buy this J. Crew look-alike for 1/5 of the price??? I did!

OOTD: Instagram Recaps

So as soon as march 1st hit, SoCal weather decided it was summer time! Ok, not really. It was only in the high-70's low 80's { I'm not gonna lie, I do miss winter time already. Not that there is much more than a 10˚ difference anyway}.

My outfits consisted of white, spring prints, and shorts for the pretty weather!

| Jeans- J Brand | Top- H&M | Sandals- Tory Burch | Head bands F21 |

| Bottoms- J. Crew Pixie Pants | Top- Ann Taylor | Cardigan- J. Crew | Shoes- Tory Burch |

| Top- Ann Taylor Chambray Button down | Shorts- unknown via Marshalls | Belt- J. Crew | Shoes- Zara|

| Top- Ann Taylor | Pants- velvet Blank Jeans | Shoes- Bamboo via Winsdor |
See this post for Zara/Bamboo shoe comparison as prices!

Somehow, I forgot to add acessories to all my outfits all week! I blame it on all my midterms! Hopefully next week I can spice up my outfits with some cute jewels :)

NOTD: Chanel Mimosa

Mimosa needs 2 coats to be fully opaque and has a pearlescent finish. It's a bit brighter on the nail than in the bottle.

This limited edition shade is not my color. The lime-green undertones do not compliment my skin tone very well. It looks better in pictures, but IRL it's not the best yellow for me. It would definitely go better with pale skin tones.

It's too bad this color doesn't work for me, I was coveting it so bad!

NOTD: Chanel Eastern Light

Leave it to Chanel to make me want all of their Limited Edition polishes! This one is part of the Hong Kong De Chanel Collection. This color is supposed to be a "bold shade of opaque white".

Eastern Lights is a bright white polish {with a bit of a grey undertone} that needs at least 3 coats to be streak-free, it has a vague jelly-like consistence.

This color reminds me a lot of Essie's Marshmallow {seen here}, but Marshmallow is less opaque and takes 4+ coats and a lengthy drying time to look like this.

There is another color in this collection called Western Light, it is a "deep chocolate, burnished with a heart of pearly red" if you're interested.

I think i'll stick to this one, I love my white polishes!
